Daily Student Health Screener:

Click here for a checklist of symptoms and situations to keep a focused eye on this year. The teachers are logging daily health checks, as well. We are doubling down on health and wellness in efforts to protect our ability to meet for in-person learning. Thank you for your cooperation on this.

Learning this Week:

P2: This week we will work on the character strength of Humor, how laughter and you can bring smiles to others.

ELA & Writing: This week we will focus on the text structure of Problem and Solution. Our focus will be on identifying in a passage how the author expresses a problem and how to find solution based on the issue.

Math: We will continue work with adding and subtracting fractions this week and begin working with mixed numbers.

    Monday-Adding unlike fractions with tenths and hundreths

    Tuesday-Subtracting fractions with like denominators in number         stories

    Wednesday-Dividing an area into parts based on a number story and     create an addition problem with fractions

    Thursday-March is reading month celebration

Science: We will continue our work with energy and movement by analyzing how roller coasters move and continue moving without an automated motor. This will help explore how hills can store energy and the correlation between the slope of a hill and the speed a roller coaster has.

Social Studies:This week we will finish our last lesson in our unit focusing on human geography of the United States. Big ideas from this lesson are:

  • The United States is rich in natural resources which include fertile soil, water, forests, and a wide variety of minerals.
  • These resources have greatly influenced the growth and development of the country.
  • Many important human activities have developed from the use of these resources including farming, mining, lumbering, and manufacturing.
