December 6th

Hey families as you know, it has become necessary to move to remote teaching and learning this week. I want to thank you for all your support in such a difficult time. Please see the schedule below. This will be your guide for our remote week of learning. As a reminder give your student and yourself grace during this time. Thank you!

Everyday we will be doing ELA from 9:45-10:45 and Math from 1:00-1:30

Setting Daily Routines and Procedures

Thank you for setting up daily routines for device care with your chid(ren). We have been so proud of our students for remembering to safely transport devices to and from school. Our teachers have worked to support similar routines here at school. 

While remotely learning this week, it will be important to establish a quiet learning space in your home, where your child(ren) can be most productive. Adapting our "work flow" can feel tricky and we appreciate your assistance with reviewing expectations for class connections and organization of tasks.

Learning This Week

ELA: This week we are going to focus on our next genre study revisiting realistic fiction. We will go over the different features and outline those features in a variety of different text types. We are also going to be using our summarizing strategy to create a graphic organizer of our information.

MATH: We will begin our third unit of math this week. This week we will work with equal shares using fractions, fraction circles, and fractions on a number line. 

Homework: Since we are focusing on learning through remote instruction this week homework expectations will be different. There wont be any math homelink pages, but we would still like students to be reading 20+ minutes per night and continue practicing their multiplication facts.
