Week 3 September 21

Where and When to Spot Fall Foliage Year You

Happy Friday families, it was another great week! All of your students did fantastic with their first full day and increasing the number of friends in our class. We also did great connecting onto our virtual Friday meeting and were able to do some fun activities to end the week. This upcoming week we will go to having 100% of our students in class this along with all full days!

LEXIA

Your child should be all set to begin working on Lexia Core 5. With the limited number of computers we have to begin the school year I encourage all families to try have your student work independently on Lexia with any available free time. Your student will also begin NWEA testing this week for reading and math.

Take home folders

On your students first day of school, they received a blue "take home folder" to use this school year. This folder will go back and forth from home to school each day. Each student has a personal mailbox in our classroom where they will place their returned in-class work as well as notes from the office, etc. You will see a majority of your students paperwork come home in their folder on Friday. Please take a moment to look through the paperwork and remove from their folder.

Book Orders

Each month, I'll be sending home a set of Scholastic book order forms. Ordering books is completely optional but is a fantastic way to grow your at-home library collection at a low cost.

Each book that is ordered helps our classroom to earn free books for our class library and the students LOVE to see what new books we receive each month.
If you are ever interested in ordering books as a gift and want me to set them aside for you to pick up, please let me know.

Orders for this month are due by Friday October 9th.

Picture Day:

Picture day will be Wednesday September 30! Please keep an eye out for more information coming soon.

Important Getting to Know Your Student Survey:

If you have not already filled out the Getting to Know You form, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you so much for helping me to get to know your student a bit better!

Unfortunately we will not be able to do our regular Back to School Night activities, but please keep an eye out for an email from me with some information about our Virtual Back to School Night. This slide show will include some vital information for your student and our class this year. I look forward for another awesome week!
